A look back at the shops that have stood at 125 Coldharbour Road over the years.

Coldharbour Road Through the Years

December 1993

125 Coldharbour Road — Marion Gay

This is where it all began. Pictured here is 125 Coldharbour Road as it looked just before Salvatore purchased the shop in December 1993 — previously trading as Marion Gay, seen here mid closing-down sale.

A few months later, Salvatore's Barber Shop opened its doors for the first time in 1994, and the rest is history!

2012

122 Coldharbour Road — Triangle Television

Triangle Television, pictured here at 122 Coldharbour Road in 2012, had a remarkable history on the road — originally opening on 12th March 1959 next door at 124. The shop was later taken over by one of its employees, Steve, who ran it with the help of Shaun and Julab until it eventually closed.

As well as retailing the Panasonic range, the team at Triangle Television were known for being able to fix pretty much anything electrical — a real institution on Coldharbour Road for over 50 years.

Summer 2015

🐑 Shaun the Sheep "Groovy Baby!" outside Morley Grove Kitchens

In the summer of 2015, "Groovy Baby!" — one of 70 giant Shaun the Sheep sculptures from Aardman Animations' Shaun in the City trail — stood proudly outside Morley Grove Kitchens at 110 Coldharbour Road. The trail raised funds in aid of The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity.

Designed by illustrator Emily Ketteringham and sponsored by the Coldharbour Road BS6 Traders — including Salvatore's Barber Shop — Groovy Baby! became a local landmark that summer, with visitors flocking to Coldharbour Road to see him.
